Dosage regulator
The dosage regulator dispenses gas into the breathing circuit in response to each exhalation. Spikes in the breathing will give spikes in dosage, high gas flows give an inferior acoustic signature.
Tip: To minimise the acoustic signature of the dosage, breathing should be calm and even.
Tip: Shield the noise from the IS-MIX such as sounds from the dosage regulator by the diver trying to have as much of his body and the IS-MIX between himself and the acoustically sensitive object. That is, the body lies at a slight angle to the object and lies at right angles to the object.
