Fit the canister into the canister housing
- Open the canister housing by unscrewing the three screws on the lid.
- Remove the canister from its storage box and check the date of filling or fill the canister with new absorbent . Absorbent in the filled canister must not be more than 2 weeks old.
Note: WARNING!Vibration during transport can affect a poorly packed canister, so always check how well the canister is packed immediately before use.
- Make sure the canister is well packed by pressing moderately on the absorbent with your thumb through the mesh. The canister should be packed tightly enough so that your thumb does not leave any traces in the absorbent.
- Shake the canister, no clattering noise should be heard (absorbent too loosely packed).
Note: WARNING!If diving is performed with a poorly packed canister, there is a risk of channel formation through the absorbent bed, resulting in an increased CO2 content, and this in turn could lead to nausea, decompression sickness or death.
Remark
Note: If the canister is too loosely packed after transport (handling) it must be filled with more absorbent.
- Check that the sealing surface in the centre hole of the canister is intact and clean, i.e. it is free from scratches, dirt and particles. The surface seals against the O-ring on the stub at the bottom of canister housing.
