Fill the buoyancy and bail-out gas cylinders
The buoyancy and bail-out gas cylinders are 1 litre cylinders which contain air. They are filled with the overflow hose for air, 300 bar or otherwise as per applicable regulations for filling pressure vessels. The filling rate should not exceed 30 bar/min. In order not to damage the pressure gauge always handle the 1 litre gas cylinders on a soft surface.
- Connect the overflow hose to a full air supply and the connection fitted with a pressure gauge to the one litre cylinder.
- Connect the overflow hose to a full air supply and connection fitted with a pressure gauge to the one-litre cylinder.
- Open the one-litre cylinder valve and then the air supply.
- After filling, check that the pressure in the one-litre cylinder is more than 200 bar.
- Close the valves to the air supply and one-litre cylinder and relieve the pressure.
- Repeat the filling procedure for the other one-litre cylinder.
Remark
Note: Handle the filled one-litre cylinders to ensure they are not confused with empty cylinders, as no further check of the gas pressure is made before diving.
If the filled gas cylinder is to be transported, a protection plug must be used.
