Dumping handle

Dumping handle

In the event of an emergency ascent, the diver can dump the buoyancy compensator's jacket weights by pulling the dump handle.

The dumping handle is connected to two wires in plastic that seals the bottom of each weight pocket. When the dumping handle is pulled, the weight pockets open at the bottom and the jacket weights fall out.

Two wires seal the weight pockets at the bottom.

If the dumping handle is pulled, the wires must be threaded back through the eight fabric loops that hold the weights together at the bottom.

The wire that seals the right weight pocket is fitted with a stop ball that prevents the wires being pulled out of the pockets on the buoyancy compensator when dumping the weights.
