The pressure gauge, consists of an inner hose of plastic (waterproofing) wrapped with kevlar which are covered by a black plastic housing (wear protection). At each end of the hose is a nipple with clamping sleeve. In order for the wear protection not to seal against the clamping sleeves and in the event of a leak, confine the gas, there is a gap between the sleeve and the plastic cover. The net stocking may therefore become visible between the sleeve and plastic cover. Vulnerable points of wear are at the transition between the sleeve and hose.

The hose connection at the high pressure unit is fitted with a flow restricting nozzle to minimise the loss of gas in the event of hose failure and protects the pressure gauge against pressure surges.
