In the water

The IS-MIX allows for easy removal of the breathing apparatus in the water, which can be of great benefit from an ergonomic point of view for the diver or to facilitate the recovery of divers, especially in rough seas.

  1. Ensure a high float position by filling the bladder with air.
  2. Remove the pressure gauge's carbine hook.

Tip: By simply securing the equipment which is heavy and or expensive with straps and carbine hooks you minimise the risk of dropping, or pass these up first to the diving supervisor in the boat.

  1. Disconnect the bail-out breathing hose quick coupling on the breathing hose.
  2. Set the switch-over valve in bail-out position.
  3. Remove the mask.
Note: WARNING!Never remove the mask without first setting the switch-over valve to bail-out position. If this is not observed, the gas in the IS-MIX will be drained and the diver will very quickly lose more than 4 kg of buoyancy, which could result in a fall which in turn could lead to drowning.
  1. Let the diving supervisor in the boat (equivalent) grip the mask (if used) turn your back to face the side of the boat so that the IS-MIX can be reached by the diving supervisor.
  2. The apparatus is released by pulling the handle on the right shoulder, while the diver presses the bottom of the IS-MIX backwards. The IS-MIX is now hanging on its upper hooks alone and can easily be lifted by the diving supervisor.
  3. Open the weight pockets (and if necessary secure the weights with the carbine hook and straps), the weights can now easily be lifted up by the diving supervisor.
  4. The diver can be helped into the boat by the diving supervisor pulling the handle on the head harness while the diver swims with fins and pulls himself up.
