B – Procedures for dry and cooled apparatus

Procedures as per Section A. In addition the following procedures must be observed:

Increased leakage may be noticed during preparation and inspection prior to diving in temperatures below -5 °C. This is accepted under these conditions if the leak stops when the IS-MIX is taken down into the water.
Breathe in the IS-MIX for about a minute on land ensuring the breathing gas circuit is heated and the absorbent “starts” prior to the dive commencing.

Remark

Note: An increased breathing frequency (shortness of breath) may indicate that the absorbent has not started, which means it is not binding CO2.
