In the event of emergency ascents, the diver can dump the jacket weights by pulling the dumping handle on the buoyancy compensator.

The dumping handle is connected to two wires in plastic that seals the bottom of each weight pocket. When the dumping handle is pulled, the weight pockets open at the bottom and the jacket weights fall out.
