The high pressure gas from the gas supply is reduced in regulator 1 down to intermediate pressure, 9 bar.

The regulator 1 is fitted with a safety valve that opens if the intermediate pressure exceeds 13.5 bar ± 1.5 bar. The regulator 1 provides other modules in the regulator block with intermediate pressure.
