The IS-MIX non-magnetic diving system consists of the IS-MIX rebreather, buoyancy compensator system, full face mask with an integrated emergency breathing apparatus and a transport/storage box, further referred to in this manual as the IS-MIX.

The IS-MIX has been designed to work in military operations, particularly where a low acoustic and magnetic signature is required, such as mine clearance (Mine Counter Measures, MCM), and other types of ordnance disposal missions (Explosive Ordnance Disposal, EOD).

The IS-MIX is a further development of the DCSC (Demand Controlled Semi Closed) rebreather.

The IS-MIX is part of an active development programme to keep the system's performance up to speed with the advances in technology and new requirements.

The IS-MIX combines the knowledge and experience from field use for both DCSC and its predecessors. The design is based on technology for demand-controlled semi-closed breathing systems that have been developed with high reliability and cost effectiveness in mind.

IS-MIX is designed:

for autonomous diving with direct ascent or what is called overhead diving,

for dives requiring decompression stops,

to meet all the essential elements of EN14143 “Respiratory equipment - Self-contained re-breathing diving apparatus”.

The IS-MIX's magnetic and acoustic signatures are within the limits specified by the RNLN.

The 5 litre diving-, 1 litre buoyancy compensation & suit- and 1 litre bail-out gas cylinders are CE marked and approved according to EN12245 for gas up to 300 bar and underwater use.

The 5 litre diving gas cylinders are oxyclean and can be used for gas mixtures with Oxygen content up to 60 %. The 1 litre cylinders are NOT oxyclean and can only be used with breathing air according to RNLN standard.

The IS-MIX diving system is suitable for Nitrox, Heliox or Trimix gas supply.
