Check of rubber parts
Note: WARNING! Ageing cracks may occur very quickly in elastomeric materials, especially when stored in the wrong environment. Make sure to follow the recommendations described in the chapter for storage to ensure the longest possible life.
Mask, head harness, breathing hoses and straps, check around all joints and attachments, pull the material. Look for chemical damage and cracks. If cracks are visible, the part should be replaced or returned to the authorised maintenance staff.
The bellows are made of reinforced elastomer which means it cannot be broken in the same manner as non-reinforced elastomer. A check of the bellows' tightness is performed using the positive and negative pressure test and visual inspection to detect mechanical and chemical damage.
Upon detection of damage or wear that may result in faults down to the reinforcement, the equipment should be submitted to qualified maintenance staff.
