Prepare DPX for diving (Surface attendant)
This preparation procedure must be made at the diving site in direct connection to diving.
- Place the pre-checked DPX surface unit including gas cylinders in such a position so that the it is easy to handle and that the pressures gauges are easy to observe
- Position the inspected diving hose and connect it to the DPX surface unit.
- Secure the diving hose in a safe way to a fixed object on surface.
- Close the bleed valves on the adaptor hoses and connect to gas cylinders (if no already done).
- Turn the DPX switch valve in the position where it shall be used.
- Check that the dosage setting on the IS-MIX is the same (DPX Red - IS-MIX Red or DPX Blue - IS-MIX Green/Blue).
- Fully open the cylinder valve that shall be used and read the pressure. (Enough gas?)
Remark
Note: A full gas cylinder (300 bar) will on the DPX pressure gauge show a lower value due to the larger volume added by the diving hose.
- Put the OPEN tag on the open gas cylinder valve.
- Vent the diving hose for 5 seconds using the vent handle to fill the diving hose with gas.
The DPX is now ready to be connected to IS-MIX. See next section.
