Dive Hose Handling
To avoid kinking of the supply hose it is important to wind the hose in such way that it is free from twisting (kinks). Kinks can result in flow restrictions. The high hose should be wound up pressurized in figures of eight with a diameter greater than 500 mm for each turn. The diving attendant, or other responsible person, must ensure that the hose is handled in a way to reduce any possible twisting (kinking) of the hose.
Note: Note: The first time a diving hose is used it can twist about four turns when it’s pressurized. Therefore unwind the diving hose and stretch it out to its full length. Pressurize the diving hose and wind it in the correct way. Release the pressure. Secure the diving hose with rope or straps to hold it together during handling and transport.
